There are many functions of the city handled out of the recorder’s office. The city recorder’s office handles the official record keeping for the city. Minutes of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen/ Alderwoman, Planning Commission and Alcoholic Beverage Board/Beer Board are kept in the recorder’s office. The recorder also serves as the city’s property tax collector and receipts all general government revenue. Various permits are issued out of the recorder’s office.
